Right to Deletion

The right-to-deletion is a legal term that refers to the right of an individual or organization to request the removal of certain personal information from the Internet. It is also known as “the right to be forgotten” or “the right to delist”. This law was introduced as part of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which requires businesses and government agencies to remove all personal data related to an individual upon request.

The right-to-deletion can be exercised by anyone who feels that they have been unfairly represented by some material on the Internet. The requester must prove their identity, which can be done by showing official identification documents such as a driver’s license or passport. If you do not provide enough evidence, your request may be denied because it cannot be verified that you are who you say you are.

A major advantage of this law is that it allows people who have been unfairly targeted for abuse online to get their reputation back by removing any posts that are deemed to be defamatory and/or harmful towards them in some way.
