JAMS

JAMS stands for Judicial Arbitration & Mediation Services (“JAMS”). It is a global organization of attorneys, neutrals, and other professionals who help parties resolve their disputes out-of-court through alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods such as mediation or arbitration.

The company was founded in 1979 by two attorneys who were frustrated with the conventional courtroom litigation process that they saw all too often. They believed there were better ways to resolve disputes than through litigation alone so they decided to create a new way to resolve conflicts that would be quicker, more efficient, and less costly than traditional litigation.

In addition to its headquarters in Los Angeles, California, JAMS has offices in Atlanta; Austin; Boston; Chicago; Dallas; Denver; New York City; Philadelphia; San Francisco Bay Area; Seattle, and Washington D.C.
