Disclaimer

A disclaimer is a statement that you make to let people know that your website or social media post does not represent the views of your employer, school or any other organization that you may be associated with. It can also be used to protect yourself from liability if someone else uses your content in a way that is against their terms of service or something illegal.

Why Do I Need a Disclaimer?

You might want to add disclaimers on your website, blog, social media pages and other online publications because it helps protect your interests by making it clear that anything you publish is solely your own opinion.

If someone takes something off of your site without permission and uses it elsewhere, they may think they have the right to do so because they have found it on the internet. This can lead them into trouble when they don't realize their actions are illegal or inappropriate.
